This jalapeño popper dip is very much inspired by a dip served at a bar in my hometown. I don’t know their particular recipe, but this version is simple to make at home and a total crowd-pleaser!
I’ve made this dip recipe on a few different occasions, and I’m happy to share my favorite version with you. I am a big fan of serving a baked dip at any party or holiday meal as an appetizer folks can graze on before the main course begins.

We served this at our work Friendsgiving this year. Our office wants to let you know that this was tied for favorite dish served. It’s a good one!
This would also be great to serve during a ball game (football or otherwise) or really any casual or semi-casual get together. It’s creamy, salty and just the right amount of spicy.
Ingredients
Cream cheese
Mayo
Pepper jack cheese
Canned jalapeno peppers
Canned green chilies
Parmesan cheese
Potato chips – crushed for the topping
How to make Jalapeño Popper Dip
In a large bowl, stir together the first five ingredients listed. This doesn’t have to be perfectly smooth, just mixed well so you’ll get an even distribution of everything in every bite.
Spoon the mix into a pie pan or an 8″ x 8″ square baking dish. Top with Parmesan cheese and the crushed potato chips.
I actually made this two days before my event. So I left the potato chips off (sealed in a Ziploc bag) until just before baking. I covered my baking dish with plastic wrap and just tucked it in the refrigerator until I was ready for it.
Bake at 350°F (177°C) for 30-35 minutes, until the edges begin to bubble a little.
Serve warm alongside some kind of delicious bread. I served mine with pretzel bites, which are just store bought pretzels I cut up and warmed. Easy peasy, and so delicious.

I’ve made this dip several times and it’s a hit! Love it!
I have been making this recipe for years. My family always requests that I bring it to any gathering. I serve with tortilla chips and it’s so good!
I’ve been making this recipe for years, and am just now leaving a review. It is often requested by friends and family for parties and events, it’s so damn good. Highly recommend making this for a game day party or really just any party. It’s excellent with crackers, but also veggies. Just make sure to wait a bit after it comes out of the oven so you don’t burn your mouth, seriously it’s so good I’ve had more than one friend dig in too early out of excitement!
I’ve been making this since your original ABM post and it is hands down one of the best hot dips out there, of any kind! I could eat a whole pan of it myself! Thank you so much, all the other recipes I’ve seen are just too much everything, and the bacon?? Yours is a perfect classic, thank you!
I’ve made this recipe several times over the years. It’s a personal and crowd favorite. Mmm!
This has been one of my favorite go-to appetizers for holidays and parties for years (since the recipe was posted)! I love it- it’s such a yummy treat and has always been a hit with friends and family!
I made this following the recipe exactly and it was super oily and somewhat curdled. Good flavor but terrible texture, I would not make again.
I am soooo happy I found your amazing site, because I am so excited each time I see your post, because I know it’s something fabulous.
Hi, looks yum but I think you’ve left the oven/heating instructions off the short recipe?
Thanks for letting us know! I just added it.
Has anyone tried to make this recipe in a crockpot?
