A virgin Mojito, sometimes cleverly called a Nojito, is a mocktail version of the classic Mojito cocktail. The truth is, this refreshing minty cocktail doesn’t need alcohol and is just as tasty and refreshing without it. In fact, this is my favorite mocktail recipe!
This recipe is a sparkling, minty limeade that is perfect to serve at outdoor parties, barbecues and brunches. Our mojito mocktail recipe is full of minty flavor and perfect for a warm summer day.

How to Mix a Mojito Mocktail
In the bottom of your glass, muddle together half the mint leaves, lime juice, and simple syrup. If you don’t have a muddler tool you can smash the mint leave with the back of a wooden spoon. Crush the leaves gently to release a minty essence.
Add ice to your glass.
Top the glass off with club soda. Serve with a straw and garnish with a mint sprig and lime slices as a garnish. Enjoy!
Tips for Making the Perfect Nojito
- A non-alchoholic liquor is not necessary for this recipe. Unlike many mocktail recipes, simply omitting the rum is enough to create an equally delicious virgin cocktail.
- Always buy extra limes when making lime juice as they can sometimes be a bit dry.
- Fresh mint leaves are an essential ingredient and there really is no substitute, so make this recipe when you have fresh mint leaves available.
- You can sub soda water for ginger ale or lemon lime soda. If you do use less simple syrup since ginger ale and sprite are sweetened sodas.
- If you are making mocktails for a baby shower you can color this recipe pink or blue using either a small amount of food dye or a natural method like watermelon.
Variations
- Strawberry add sliced strawberries to the muddling process and the garnishes for a strawberry variation.
- Pineapple Add a splash of pineapple juice for a pineapple mojito.
- Extra Lime, Please Go heavy on the fresh lime juice for an extra tart and refreshing outcome.
- Watermelon Make your virgin mojito into a watermelon flavor by muddling a few cubes of watermelon along with the lime juice and fresh mint. You can also garnish with Watermelon.
- Fresh Fruit Add fresh fruit such as mango, peaches or other types of citrus fruits.
